Interactive Reading from a Comic Project
The apocalypse is currently thriving, both in global tragedies and on the big screen. In film, the thrill of disaster often merges with a longing for a new freedom in a post-apocalyptic world devoid of rules. But what does it really mean when a world ends? And who is it ending for? Is climate change a future apocalypse, or are we already living through it? What does the use of the term "apocalypse," such as in the "AIDS apocalypse," reveal about us as a society?
This interactive reading, part of a comic project by Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design and the Käte Hamburger Kolleg for Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Studies, combines artistic perspectives on overlooked apocalypses with scholarly commentary.
