How do we perceive smells? What exactly is a scent?

In her lecture, Dr. Claire de March traces the journey of a scent from its source to its perception, exploring the world of odors from both the food and perfume industries. Research into the sense of smell could one day have the potential to transform the world, as this often-overlooked sense influences our lives in ways that are far more profound than we might imagine.

This event is organized in collaboration with the French Embassy in Germany, Department of Science and Technology.
