Opening of the "Science Cube" as a New Competence Center for Science Communication
2045: 100% Climate Neutrality – in Germany’s Central Mining District? How can structural change and transformation be achieved through effective climate communication?
In the Central Mining District due to funding programs like STARK, numerous stakeholders have been working to adapt the European Green Deal to the region and collaboratively shape the transition from coal to fossil-free futures. The newly established "Science Cube" will serve as a competence center for science communication and transformation, launching from Halle into the region. Over the coming years, it aims to make the diverse efforts from research, politics, education, and civil society visible through effective communication, bringing them together to strengthen the transformation in Central Germany. After all, science is not a black box!
The Science Cube, with its OpenAcademy, will annually invite 80 interested participants to explore the field of science communication and develop innovative communicative formats in practice, working in teams and with selected partners from the Central Mining District.
The opening of the new "Science Cube" will be led by the Halle-based association science2public e.V.
