What role does science play in our daily lives? Or in a democratic society? This event invites direct conversations between scientists and the public, taking place in town squares and public spaces—factual, informative, sometimes controversial, but always constructive. It’s part of a joint series organized by major German scientific organizations, where renowned scientists from various fields, alongside the leaders of these organizations, personally engage with the public. The initiative is led by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW), the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), and the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities (Akademienunion).
In collaboration with the Science Cube – Competence Center for Science Communication, the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
In good weather, this event will also be in the town square in front of Kaufhaus.
