Breaking Free from the Polycrisis – Where Do We Find Direction?

The world around us is undergoing profound changes, and we know that we too must change if we are to thrive in this era of transformation. Often, we even know how to make these changes, yet we still fail to act. But why?

For Maja Göpel and her colleagues, Nicole Zabel-Wasmuth and Lilian Rosa, one of the reasons for the many crises we face lies in a crisis of imagination. To address this, they collaborate with filmmakers and other creatives to craft new narratives.

Stories, unlike mere reports of facts, can help us grasp concepts that have previously escaped our imagination. Their aim is to bring solutions to the forefront, create positive scenarios, and offer a vision of what we are striving for rather than merely what we are opposing. They want to tell stories that evoke longing rather than fear, all with the goal of moving more quickly from knowledge to action.
