Director of “The Last Kingdom”

Tobias Nölle works in Berlin and Zurich as a director, screenwriter and editor. He studied film in New York. His films move in the gray area between inner and outer reality, between fantasy and reality. The focus is usually on protagonists with an unconventional world view and lifestyle. His short film René won the Golden Leopard in Locarno in 2008. His feature film “Aloys” won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlinale 2016, among others. In 2015, he was one of the directors of “Heimatland”, an episodic film that celebrated its world premiere in the Locarno competition. Preparations for a Miracle is his first documentary film. He is currently completing his next film. Tobias Nölle is co-founder of the 8Horses Film Collective in Zurich.
