Dr Rachel Killean is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law Queen’s University Belfast. She is also a Fellow in the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice and an academic member of the Environmental Justice Network of Ireland Her research focuses on responses to violence, including sexual and gender based violence, armed conflict, and crimes against nature. She has published a variety of papers on the possibilities of rights for nature, with a particular focus on ecocide, reparations for environmental harm and environmental restorative justice.
