Mingyu Yang did her Ph.D. in systems neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics. Her work mainly focuses on the brain state in the dimension of arousal, such as the sleep-wake cycle. More specifically, she investigated how arousal states modulate sensorimotor function and memory processing.
She is now working on a start-up project Memozzz with her teammate Alireza Saeedi and Shanqian Ma, attempting to design non-invasive devices to improve targeted memory during sleep by applying memory consolidation theory. Their project has won the innovation award in the Cyber Valley start-up incubation program 2022.
