Mathias Herbarth, simply called Mathi by most people, is a chef.
He was born in Halle an der Saale in 1983. At the age of 16, he escaped to go to the big, wide (German) West. He ended up in Baiersbronn. To be precise, in Obertel in the "Hotel Engel" in the Black Forest.
It's well-known, especially with regards to apprentice years: life's not easy at the bottom. But after three years he had made it and completed his training as a chef.
After that, he went out into the big wide world. First he toured Switzerland for a while, then he said a brief "hello" to Schuhbeck in the "Südtiroler Stuben" in Munich. Afterwards, he made stops in places like Dubai, Switzerland and Macau and experienced in many small restaurants how to learn life simply.
And now - back in Halle - he wants to cook, laugh, have fun and experience great evenings with all kinds of people. According to the motto... "nice to meat you"!
