Dr. Judith Kretzschmar

Dr. Judith Kretzschmar is a research associate specializing in trust research and journalism skills at the Centre for Journalism and Democracy at Leipzig University (JoDem).

Born in Erfurt, trained as a library assistant, secondary school leaving certificate. Master's degree in communication and media studies and theater studies at the University of Leipzig. Subsequently research assistant in the DFG project “Program History of GDR Television” and film and television scholar at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies at Leipzig University. Doctorate with a thesis on the representation of “Heimat” in GDR television. She is currently also managing director of the Leipzig Institute for Homeland and Transformation Research and on the board of the Research Center for Transformation History at Leipzig University.
