Johannes Gemkow is a research assistant at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies at Leipzig University in the field of media education. Johannes Gemkow studied at the University of Leipzig (BA) and the University of Halle-Wittenberg (MA).
His current research focuses on social media, populism and youth, media and information literacy and mediatization as well as qualitative social research. In his current project at the Research Institute for Social Cohesion, he is researching young people's experiences of populism on social media.
Johannes Gemkow is a member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE) and the Society for Media Education and Communication Culture (GMK).”
