Dr Hans Zillmann studied philosophy and political science at MLU. From 2014-2016 he taught at the Department of Philosophy at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. Since 2016 he has been teaching at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences in the fields of cultural and media philosophy as well as professional ethics for social work. From 2016-2019, he was a collaborator in the ethical project of the interdisciplinary network "GenomELECTION: Genome Editing - ethical, legal and communication science aspects in the field of molecular medicine and plant breeding". In 2017, he completed his PhD in philosophy at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. From 2018-2019, he was a collaborator in the Digital Culture Research and Experience Network at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. Since 2019, he has been a lecturer in medical ethics at the Interdisciplinary Scientific Centre "Medicine-Ethics-Law" (IWZ MER) at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. In 2019, he was invited as an expert to the expert hearing at the BfR consumer conference "Genome Editing in Nutrition and Health". From 2020-2022 he was a high school teacher for ethics, philosophy and social studies. From 2022-2023, he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Erfurt. He is currently a substitute professor for cultural and social philosophy. Hans Zillmann works as a philosophical consultant in addition to his academic work.
His research focuses on practical philosophy, bioethics and medical ethics, neurophilosophy, artificial intelligence, cultural philosophy, political philosophy, social philosophy and media philosophy.
