Since 2012, Franziska Vilmar works as an asylum law and policy expert at Amnesty International Germany. Her expertise is on human rights violations of refugees and migrants as a result of German and European asylum policies. In this context, she visited the Greek island of Chios and Athens in 2018.
From 2015 to 2017, Franziska Vilmar managed three projects in the field of asylum and migration for the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Morocco.
For another six years, she worked as a research assistant at the Bundestag. Franziska Vilmar studied law in Berlin, Potsdam, Paris and Edinburgh.
