Daisy van de Zande is the director of InScience – International Science Film Festival Nijmegen (The Netherlands). She had a background in Dutch language and literature (BA), Media and Culture (BA) and Film Studies (MA) from the University of Amsterdam. After graduating cum laude she started teaching at the department of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam and transferred to Utrecht University in 2014. She taught courses on Dutch film culture & industry, neuroscience & cinema, media & representation amongst others. From the start of InScience Film Festival in 2015, she was involved as selection committee member and together with the programming staff, they set the bar for a high-quality program of science films. Daisy has been involved in InScience ever since. As program coordinator, and later as director of the festival, she has been working on a state-of-the-art program of science films, keynotes, immersive and interactive stories, art expo’s, and the professional’s program called InVision.
