We're super happy, that Zoo Halle is this year a festival location once more, providing a programme mix of tours, talks and initiatives all to do with the subjects of "Love in the Animal Kingdom" and "Love between Humankind and Animals" – and that in all their mutuality. In the Animal-Love-Center as well as at various initiative stands, the human-animal relationships are being explored in detail. The most diverse aspects of these relations will be presented here in an entertaining and playful manner intended especially for younger visitors.

300 years ago Johann Heinrich Schulze published his discovery on the light sensitivity of silver nitrate in Halle (Saale). We named our festival after this event.

In today´s press conference, Donata von Perfall, director of Documentary Campus and Silbersalz Festival, has informed the public about the festival’s program – together with the Lord Mayor of the City Halle (Saale), Dr. Bernd Wiegand, and State Chancellor Rainer Robra. Bereits am 1. April 2019 beginnt das Jugendprogramm “SILBERSALZ made by YOUth”. Hier treffen sich Jugendliche mit Künstler*innen, Schaupieler*innen, Medienschaffenden und Forschenden um gemeinsam ihr Programm zum SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival 2019 zu gestalten.

Currently, the SILBERSALZ team is working on creating a diverse and inspiring program – and there are some exciting news already: Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch will be guest with a public talk at SILBERSALZ19. Also we will host the national premiere of "Pleasure and Pain", a documentary by Judith König. Plus the first Sci-Art-Installations are confirmed.
