“Of Caravan and the Dogs” wins 1. AUDIENCE AWARD

We are thrilled to announce that the inaugural Audience Award of the SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival goes to "Of Caravan and the Dogs," directed by Askold Kurov and Anonymous1. This poignant film highlights the crucial importance of press freedom.

In their documentary, filmmaker Askold Kurov and his team use Russia as a case study to illustrate how the state can stifle an independent press, delving into the consequences for society when media is manipulated.

The film was showcased as part of the Science Year 2024 theme of Freedom at the SILBERSALZ FESTIVAL. It won the audience vote against 21 other films that explored topics such as artificial intelligence, the fight against malaria, and the influence of social media.
