Code of Conduct / SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival

The SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival aims to create a safe, respectful and inclusive festival environment in which audiences, guests and staff feel comfortable. We are advocates of freedom of speech. However, especially in today's world of heated and strongly divergent opinions, respectful interaction with one another can no longer be taken for granted. We have created this Code of Conduct for this purpose:

The Code of Conduct is an essential part of our terms and conditions. By participating in an event as part of the SILBERSALZ festival, you are obliged to comply with this Code of Conduct.

SILBERSALZ is against discrimination, harassment and violence in any form. Discriminatory, offensive or harassing language and/or actions based on gender identity, sexual orientation, origin, ethnic affiliation, age, appearance, skin color, religion, disability, economic or socio-economic disadvantage, level of education or political conviction will not be tolerated either in festival work or in behavior during the festival. The limits of the rule of law must be observed; in particular, reference is made to the criminal offenses of Section 130 (Incitement to hatred) and Section 86a (prohibition of the use of prohibited symbols) of the German Criminal Code. This applies to conduct in the digital space in connection with SILBERSALZ’s social media presences as well.
